OTC cold tablets and asthma?
My asthma seems to flare up when I have a cold. Could it be triggered by the OTC cold meds I am taking? Has anyone experienced this? Do you know what is a flawless cold med to take when you have asthma?
Answers:
Use your rescue inhaler when you are experiencing increased asthma symptoms due to trigger exposure. Also I would suggest using your nebulizer. What type of cold symptoms are you experiencing? There may be other alternatives to treating the symptoms without using medications.
it be your cold that flare up your asthma and not your cold meds. get some sleep/rest and drink lots of water for the colds. no involve meds.
I don't regard that the cold medicine triggered your asthma attacks as much as the cold itself could have triggered the attacks. It's possible that something within the medicine could trigger your asthma, but it's more likely that the the cold itself & the coughing triggered your asthma. I know near are cold & flu medicines from Coricidin (HBP) for people next to high blood pressure.and there may be something out within that would be gentler on your asthma. You might check with your pharmacist for medicines that are okay if you hold asthma or check with your doctor if your condition does not get better. Good Luck!
