Asthma or what?

Everyever I ate a certain food, I will keep coughing for a while after that, is that basically an allergy to that food or is it asthma?
Answers:
Do you feel like mucus is building up surrounded by your throat and feel swelling? If your answer is yes, then it is predictable a food allergy. I am allergic to coconut and thats what happens to me. An asthma attack is similar but different and not caused by food. Source(s): I'm a Respiratory Therapist and hold food allergies
There's not enough information here. What kind of food are we discussion about? Are you coughing because you feel you throat starting point to get tight? Does your tongue feel creamy? Does it stimulate your gag reflex too much? Do you lay down right after eating this food? Source(s): Nurse
