There is a style to build endurance that's by running 2 miles at least twice a week. You can also do 100m sprints consequently 100m jog and repeat until you hit one mile that will build your speed up. But one other good route is resistance running where you run with small parachutes or running up hill they will build your muscles and make you faster. Source(s): I ran track and be in the Army
i think you should carry your asthma inhaler. a moment ago in case] and you should jog normally, really slow jogs, it helps increase your lung power (or something close to that) and once you get better, keep on going faster bit by bit. hope this help![;
my best mile run is 5min and 30sec something but It's all because I run everyday for at lowest possible an hour but I started this training 5 years ago.. my team mates do also duplicate thing running everyday some of us run 2 hours a day and the fastest character in my team runs 40 kilometers every weekend for 2 hours ruminate.. He's really crazy but what he's doing is worth it. Whenever he's doing the mile run it's like he's just sprinting for the in one piece time and he also got the schools history. Another training that I heard of is running up hill, downhill, and on the shoreline. Source(s): experience
By following your coach's workout plans. The worst thought is to try to undermine your coach. Talk to him/her since they are the one in charge, not rando yahoo answerers (as intelligent as we may be, lol).

Unfortunately, track is a sport that in recent times takes lots of time and hard practice. Especially surrounded by the distance events, where you need to put within LOTS of mileage before you see ANY results.. unless you are just intrinsically born with talent.

Best of luck with the trials of miles and miles of trials! Source(s): 10+ years running experience

you actualy can't learn to be a fast runner. it's something individuals are born with. but if you're in track I don`t know you could do long distance running. that's all mental and something that you could very okay learn to be good at.
